Three Sheets to the Wind with The Rounding Cape Horns LIVE at the National Theater!Multitrack audio recorded through Presonus 24.4.2 on 10.21.15 by AC Fader.
Audio mixed at Scott's Addition Sound by Micah Berry and Kevin Willoughby. Video shot and edited by Altamira Film Co. Special thanks to Mark Lugo and Rick Mersel of AEG Live. Thanks also (as always) to Harold, Carroll, and Dylan. Very special thanks to our friends in Teaze for opening up the show, and for Marty McFly for coming Back to the Future. This video features our killer horn section, The Rounding Cape Horns. Enjoy! |
The Love Boat Luau--often called Yacht Rock's most important Valentine's Day event of all time*--began at the Republic, moved to The John Marshall, The National, The Broadberry, and now in 2016 includes both The Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville and The Broadberry in Richmond!. This shindig does not discriminate against single folks. In fact, single folks buying one ticket always get in for half the price of someone buying two tickets!** The video at right is another one of Captain Max's ridiculous edits--we think it's among his best. The audio in the video is LIVE as performed by Three Sheets to the Wind and the Rounding Cape Horns in late 2015.

It's good to be a passport-ready band, especially when you're also America's #1 Tribute to Yacht Rock. We had a blast during our recent fly date to the Florida Keys. Although we were ready with our passports, it turns out the the Conch Republic is really more of a state of mind than an official political state. <music by The Loggins> The More You Know...

When we play the National, we go over-the-top. We've done a Hall & Oates Tribute show, a Holiday Spectacular, an 80s New Year's Prom, but here we present the Yacht Rockinest Halloween number ever performed! Thanks to our friends in L.I.P.S.T.I.C.K. for the choreography and dance moves!

Danny Marnier solves the world's oldest question: "When playing in a Hall & Oates Tribute Band, do you play a traditional or electronic drum kit?" The answer: both at once! Saxophone stylings from JC "Mister" Cool.
We're looking forward to seeing you in Richmond at the National on the 29th, and in Norfolk at the NorVa on the 30th! Two sets: one Yacht Rock and one Hall & Oates Tribute! |
Topper and Captain Max discuss the origins of the band, their affinity for Steely Dan, mispronounce JD Ryznar's name, and allude to the now infamous "Solid Gold Dancer Hot Tub Incident" of 1981. |

As explored in Yacht Rock Episode 7, the marriage of Michael McDonald's I Keep Forgettin' with Warren G and Nate Dogg's G Funk stylings resulted in Regulate, a number 2 hit in 1994. Three Sheets flexes its smooth suburbanite street cred here.
