After more than two years of Third Thursdays at The Republic, the time has come for a change.
We had played at Republic a few times prior to our Third Thursdays debut on 16 September 2010, but that September date marked the beginning of what would become an amazing 30 month residency. Playing for (and with) a great group of friends to a packed house night after night really gave us the confidence that this crazy yacht rock idea might actually work. We made a ton of friends, had a bunch of laughs, debuted dozens of new songs for our repertoire, showed 19 different episodes of Captain Max's meticulously crafted pop culture video series, Three Sheets TV™, and thanks to The Republic, we have never had to charge a dime for a Third Thursday cover charge. As the popularity of the night continues to grow, however, we are excited for the next chapter in the saga.
We are proud to announce that beginning February 21st, Third Thursdays will continue at the Tobacco Company!
By moving Third Thursdays to the grand old dame of Shockoe Slip, we will be able to expand the one weeknight of the month synonymous with free Yacht Rock. Yes, the night will remain free for all attendees, and will still feature two long sets of music from your pals in Three Sheets to the Wind, America's #1 Tribute to Yacht Rock. Playing this room will allow us to reach more people, make more friends, and provide a bit more elbow room for the yacht rock regulars. Basically, Third Thursdays will continue unabated--just in a room that has palm trees in it.
To celebrate the move, Tobacco Company is putting together quite the special event that we're calling the "launch party" on Saturday February 9th. Click the link and sign up to hear about all the drink specials, yacht rock swag and other things that will go down that night. And don't worry--we'll be back with our friends at Republic on Saturday, March 2nd, our first Saturday in our favorite Fan bar since 2009! We are beyond excited for all that 2013 has to offer, and can't wait to see your smiling faces soon as we continue our quest to lower productivity in offices across Richmond on the third Friday of the month. Thanks as always for all you've done to help us get to this point. We are constantly amazed and humbled by the support we receive from Richmond, and will continue to strive to do all we can to retain our title as "luckiest band in Richmond."

It's high time you played your card.
If you live in this world,
You're feelin' the change of the guard."
