Who would have thought that these kids today with their techno and remixes would latch onto something called yacht rock — described by this group’s lead singer, Capt. Max Power, as “music that makes you want to order a piña colada.” The premise: a group cryogenically frozen at the request of Loggins, McDonald, Hall and Oates in 1985 to “bring a great awakening to mankind” in 2009 — “smooth or die.” Fans span generations. The band regularly plays Republic. Next cruise: Friday Cheers, May 27. Request “Rosanna.”
